Kampala. The minister for works and transport Gen. Katumba Wamala has joined Buganda kingdom and asked Ugandans to donate blood to help those who require it.
Katumba was speaking shortly after donating blood for the last time in his life at Bulange Mengo on Tuesday. He said he was ending to donate blood as he knocks 65 years which is the recommended age to end blood donations.
“It’s upon everyone to take up the mantle from where we have ended,” Gen. Katumba said.
Meanwhile Katikkiro Charles Pater Mayiga has ‘it’s obvious why we must donate blood because it is not manufactured so it’s upon us to donate it for the sick, mothers, sicklers.”
Mayiga and Gen. Katumba were speaking from Bulange on Tuesday where Buganda Foundation organized a blood donating drive that started on Monday and ends on Wednesday.
