Police in Luweero district are holding a couple, whose identities for the alleged Kidnap of 3-year-old girl Namazzi Kisaakye, who was found in their home.

Kisaakye disappeared from her parent’s home in Nsozibirye village in Luweero Sub-County on March 25, 2021.   Her parents together with residents and police have been searching for Kisaakye until when her father, John Katumba sighted her playing in the suspect’s compound in Kibanvu village near Luweero Town Council.

Abraham Tukundane, the Luweero District Police Commander, says they have commenced investigations to establish how the minor ended up in the suspect’s home.

The 2019 Uganda Police Annual Crime Report shows that 159 cases of kidnaps were registered throughout the country.
