Lukwago joins gov’t call for mass vaccination of Ugandans

The Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has launched a campaign drive to encourage all the City dwellers in Kampala are vaccinated against Covid-19 from different KCCA centers.

“For purposes of saving our communities, all of us should get vaccinated. Also let us sanitize, wear masks and ensure social distance as scientifically recommended remedies to beat the virus,” Lukwago said on Tuesday from City Hall.

He launched the “Let us get vaccinated” exercise at City Hall on Tuesday calling upon the Government to commit resources to ensure that the required vaccines are readily available as and accessible to all.

Currently, vaccination is stalling in Kampala due insufficient doses. Neighboring Wakiso District also declared on Tuesday they had run out of the vaccines.

In the same vein, Lukwago castigated the Government for pushing for the current lock down yet, it has not sensitized the public enough on the way forward.
