Third Daily Monitor journalist dies in one month.

Another Daily Monitor journalist Felix Basiime (pictured above) has died, only eleven days after the death of another colleague at the Namuwongo based publication.

Basiime died in the wee hours of Friday after an illness related to covid19. Pauline Bangirana a journalist with the Daily Monitor died in June 8 of covid19.Journalist JB Ssenkubuge had also died a week earlier. Basiime’s death brings to three the number of reporters dead in one month.

Basiime has been a stringer based in the Western city of Fortportal covering the entire Tooro region.

He died last night at Mbarara hospital where he had been battling covid-19 in the ICU.
