“I have him in custody now,” Lokech said

“The guy who took the gun after the shooting was called Kagugube. We have also arrested another character called Amin. They took the gun to his place. The gun was taken in a TV box but later on the gun was taken wrapped in banana leaves to Paul Mukwasi’s home, real name” Lokech said.

Police said the master mind of all the attack is Sheikh Obadia. He is on the run. He is the one who recruited all these people. He is ADF (Allied Democratic Forces). He could be in DRC. All these groups are linked to ADF,” Lokech said.

“The operation is still continuing to bring to book the attackers,” Lokech said. The arrests were done at Kawempe and Nansana.

He said that the operation came from a strategic guidance of the Commander-in-Chief and that this became a strategic directive.

“From that strategic directive, security forces moved on to look for the attackers. In the last 24 hours, we decided to zero on the attackers, but for the last three weeks we had been surveilling them,” Lokech said.

It is exactly a month today since the attackers attempted to assassinate Gen. Katumba Wamala.

This week, two people were arraigned in court in connection with the attacker.
