WASHINGTON-UNITED STATES/NEWSDAY: Twitter announced Monday it will work with the two largest international news agencies, Reuters and the Associated Press, to debunk disinformation on its messaging site.

The agencies will help Twitter create background data on a high volume of tweets, in order to provide accurate information on their site.

“We’re excited to share that Twitter is collaborating with The Associated Press (AP) and Reuters to expand our efforts to identify and elevate credible information on Twitter,” the social network said in a blog post.

They said they were committed to making sure that when people come to Twitter to see what’s happening, they are able to easily find reliable information.
