KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Church of Uganda is seeking for Shs. 60bn to pay off a debt it owes to Equity bank .
Church of Uganda borrowed USD 17million during the reign Archibishop Luke Orombi to construct the commercial church house.

Although there are no threats from lenders, Equity Bank to auction the building. Archibishop Samuel Kaziimba says the debt must be overcome. And the church has managed to collect Shs. 1bn after the campaign live gift was launched on June 6.

Friends and Protestants who want to contribute can use the following online payments system.

Via airtel customers can pay through a free Merchant code *185*4*9# 1196868, and that using this the entire sum is received into the bank account.
 MTN customers can *165*3# merchant code 608863.
