KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Kampala’s rich young man, Ham Kiggundu has named two top officials, Uganda’s attorney General Kiryoowa Kiwanuka and President Museveni’s in-law Edwin Karugire as plotting to kill him

“When I die, it’s them. They are after me,” Kiggundu said on Thursday after a court session in Kampala. He however provided no evidence.

Kiggundu is in court seeking to recover over Shs 120 billion from Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) Uganda and Kenya. Fred Muwema leads his legal team while KK Advocates represent DTB owned by Agha Khan.

In October 2020, Commercial court judge Henry Peter Adonyo ruled in favour of Kiggundu, ordering DTB Uganda to refund all funds deducted from his accounts. It was alleged that these deductions were made without Kiggundu’s consent. Records presented to the court revealed that Kiggundu had obtained loans totalling over Shs 120 billion from DTB Uganda and DTB Kenya between 2011 and 2016 to finance his real estate business.
