NAIROBI. Ssimuka Uganda CEO Frank Gashumba has praised the capture of elusive murder convict Mathew Kirabo saying now justice will be served.

In May this year, Kirabo was convicted in absentia of murdering his girlfriend, Desire Mirembe, in 2015 . Both Kirabo and Mirembe were medical students in Makerere University. Kirabo had fled in what relatives thought was an assisted escape by some elements in security agencies.

A red notice was issued against him and on Tuesday September 12, 2023 he was arrested in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.

Mr Gashumba said “the most wanted murderer has been arrested? And he will spend his entire life behind bars,” Gashumba told Newsday.
