THE leader of National Unity Platform (NUP) Hon Robert Kyaggulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has been shot and injured, his party has said.

In a trending video which has gone viral, Bobi Wine can be seen seated on the ground and being helped by some of his close aides.

The circumstances under which he has been shot is still unclear but he has been rushed to Nsambya Hospital for medical attention.

Sources said Bobi Wine was shot in the leg although alternative information said he was hit by a teargas canister.

The opposition leader was reportedly shot in the leg by security forces in Bulindo, Kira in Wakiso district.

Some police officers driving in a police pick up truck number UP 5752, were also captured in the video with the person on the camera pointing at one of the officers alleging he is a prime suspect of the gun fire.

The NUP described this an attempt on their leader’s life.
