Opposition chief Whip John Baptist Nambeshe has been appointed acting President for the National Unity Platform as his boss Bobi Wine flew out of the country for three weeks.

Bobi Wine reportedly left the country for official duty on Sunday to European and North American destinations.

His Secretary Sarah Muwonge wrote to Nambeshe on Sunday June 20, 2021 notifying him of the appointment.

“This is to inform you that party president has asked me to notify you that he has designated you as acting President for three weeks from July 20 to July 10 while he is out of the country for official duties,” Muwonge wrote in a non-precedence move, according to NUP supporters intended to set an example for President Museveni.
