MASAKA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Kabaka Mutebi is due to mark his 28th coronation celebrations at Nkoni palace in Buddu County later on Saturday July 31. People lined the roads in major townships to have a glimpse of him as he passed by.
The Kabaka was crowned at Nagalabi on Saturday July 31 1993 after years of abolition of the traditional institutions by Milton Obote.
Kabaka’s reign has been characterised by great successes including promotion of education, agriculture, health and infrastructure development. But still a thorn in the feet is the central government challenge of the Mailo Land tenure and the unending reconstruction of Kasubi tombs that gutted fire in 2010.
