Wakiso-Uganda/ Newsday: Former spy master and security Minister Lt.Gen.Henry Tumukunde has been placed under investigations after he allegedly assaulted a casual labourer.

Police said on Sunday that on September 19, at 1700 hours at Muduuma along Mityana Road, Gen.Tumukunde assaulted a young man , Jasimwa Willy who he reportedly accused of being an intruder on his land.

The 29 year old, a labourer with “Enkoni” farm, was accused by Tumukunde of tresspass on his land.

It is alleged that Tumukunde further threatened more harm if Jasimwa or any other person ever got back on this land without his permission.

“The victim was a casual labourer to a one Namusisi Betty who apparently has unresolved land dispute with Gen.Tumukunde”, the spokesperson for the Criminal Investigations Department, Charles Twiine said on Sunday. Efforts to get a comment from Tumukunde were futile.

Under a week, Gen Tumukunde is the second former army high ranking officer after Kaka Bagyenda to be investigated.

Kaka served as Internal Security Organization (ISO) boss when Tumukunde was his boss as security minister. Bagyenda is reportedly being investigated for involvement in machete killings in July and August in greater Masaka.
